How it works
Our retreats are all-inclusive and operate on a rolling basis, so you can choose the dates and length of your stay that suits you! Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned yogi, this is the opportunity to start or enrich your yoga practice, and at the same time get to know Sri Lanka’s unique, spiritual culture.
FARM-TO-TABLE DINING
Let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food!
Our food is fresh, plant-based, and most importantly, delicious.
We prepare vegetarian dishes to nourish you and inspire you to live life to the fullest.
We grow nearly everything on our property, and if it's not grown on Welikande soil, we partner with local vendors in the nearby villages to source everything you see on your plate. We even roast our own coffee!
Whether it’s a king coconut for breakfast, colourful bowls of exotic fruits, lunchtime snacks or an authentic Sri Lankan dinner, you’ll be offered delicious, nutritionally balanced options that are bursting with flavour.
Our menus are flexible enough to accommodate any additional dietary requirements, please let us know upon reservation.

A retreat at Welikande offers two daily yoga classes. Our resident yoga teachers are highly trained from all around the world. You don't need to be a yoga expert to participate. All you need is an open-mind and a willingness to surrender to the deep healing and profound shifts that an immersion into yoga can bring.

A large part of what we stand for is to improve the lives of others not just our guests, our staff and local community by trying to improve their lives and helping others with their needs for example a wheelchair for a disabled child, musical instruments so a child can take part in their schools music lessons.

As part of a retreat at Welikande, you get the opportunity to experience a wide range of activities that immerse you in the local culture here in the Knuckles Mountains Range of Sri Lanka.
The local experiences are diverse: From hiking, to swimming in waterfalls, learning how to make a Sri Lankan curry, mandala painting art classes.

Although Michael fell in love within 30 seconds, it took Tush six months to acknowledge their connection... they have been in love ever since.

My 7-day stay at Welikande was absolutely amazing. It started with warm welcome from Michael and his wife Tush and the rest just build on it. Location is exceptional, nice and clean rooms with all you need, practicing yoga at yoga shala with mind blowing view while listening to singing of birds is so relaxing experience.
